Career Opportunities

Positive Parenting Education and Support

Twelve weeks ago, the Positive Parenting Education and Support Group began in Hampden County, through the 208 Race Street satellite office. Due to ongoing health concerns it is held on Zoom on Tuesdays from 1:30-2:30 pm.

There are 10 participants enrolled who have perfect attendance to date! All of the parents are actively engaging and participate during class. Groups will conclude on 3/16/21.

Topics covered during the sessions include brain development and trauma, positive behavior management, self-esteem in children and parents, importance of household routine and schedule, nutrition, self-care and community resources available to parents and their families.

The program holds weekly virtual raffles with incentives for the participants and they receive a certificate of completion and a certificate for perfect attendance at the end of the 12 weeks.

This Group is funded by The Children’s Trust. Family and Youth Services Department provides Positive Parenting services to parents living with an disability The Children’s Trust has been funding the Positive Parenting Groups since 1998 and a strong supporter of Positive Parenting and The United Arc.
